One of the Foundation's first schoolmasters, the approved  PSL stallion Justo, was retired at the 2009 symposium.

Just as we expect students to revere their schoolmasters during work, so we respect them equally when age dictates retirement to a permanent, loving home where after their invaluable service to the next generation of classical riders they will be cared for in the highest standards while enjoying the last years of their lives.

In keeping with this honored tradition, Justo gave his last solo performance in 2009 under Lorna Russell.  His groom then entered the arena to remove his saddle, signifying a noble end to a dignified career.

Since this classic Lusitano stallion is a favorite of everyone who knows him, there was hardly a dry eye in the house.

Such is the profound legacy of a much-loved classical schoolmaster.
